I joined Reframe a couple of months ago, to learn more about the effects of alcohol use, and to cut back a little more myself. This app has a daily set of things to complete: a guided meditation, a short reading, an encouragement... and more. There is a forum where members can support each other, learn from each other, and share about their journeys with their goals or cutting back or going completely alcohol free. The app also has zoom calls you can join— like the "sober Saturdays” late afternoon call, in addition to other kinds of daily calls. They help you track how much you drink (or if you drink) on a daily basis. I have asked them to have a hashtag for ACOAS (Adult Children of Alcoholics), for the forum. I hope they will!
This app really is all that. It's short and effective, very important for people who lead busy lives. Some people can't set aside time or have the means for therapy or to consult a professional about their drinking habits. For me this was a great way to start my journey. I am a bartender and am surrounded by alcohol consumption, my livelihood depends on it. So it let hypocritical to not drink. However drinking is different from person to person and it's up to the individual to forms healthy relationship with it or not at all. Anyway, this app is great, I've been on it for four months and I have seen such drastic changes in my every day behaviors and work. Recommend highly for sober curious and those who want to start the journey to sobriety.
I have struggled with alcohol use disorder for many years and have tried many different methods to recover. I've had success with different methods, such as AA, but I've relapsed in recent years and now I'm trying to get sober again. As anyone who has had serious AUD knows it is an extremely and serious disease. I've been using the reframe app for about a month combined with medication (naltrexone). I really feel like using Reframe daily is helping a lot. I have cut back my drinking significantly and I'm having alcohol free days regularly that I almost never had before using Reframe (and Naltrexone/Sinclair Method). I highly recommend using the app and the medication. It works and it's easier to stick to than simple will power or 12 steps.
I was a little skeptical about this app when I first saw it. But I began to read through some of the Information in the app and became very intrigued. I got the app and use it every day. The information is so concise, thorough and has been very enlightening to me. The information really makes you Aware of what alcohol really is and how it affects you in so many ways. I've made other attempts to stop drinking but they did not Impact me the way that this app has. I know different things work for different people, but this has definitely helped me and I would recommend it. One other thing, if you're serious about trying to cut back or stop drinking don't be discouraged by some of the comments that you will see. Reframe is the real deal!
Understand the science and personal 'whys' addiction and change your relationship to it through a multifaceted approach: learning, mindfulness practices, cultivating skill sets to prepare for noticing and responding to triggers, share in community support through forums and meetings (I haven't personally tried the meetings), and more. Also they have a beta version of an Al chat assistant who is honestly more useful than my therapist (and smarter than chatgpt for mental health/addiction purposes). The ability to at any moment of distress send a message to this Al bot has changed the way I handle that distress and allows me to get the support I need without social anxiety or fear of burdening others being a barrier. I have recommended this appt to many people.
20 years of heavy drinking and had tried stopping by myself a few times, gave AA two chances and knew it wasn't for me. I needed help in my journey of stopping drinking and in addition to a support system I set up, I chose this app based on word of mouth. Reframe truly helped me stopped drinking. It's not a magic cure, you are reading this review because you already know you need a change and there isn't a magic solution. It's got a great program you can choose and use like a menu with no pressure. It's also super convenient, uber discreet, and a truly safe space. It wasn't the only thing I used, but it was the main one. One year later, I am continuing my subscription because it worked for me. I now count in years being alcohol free in part thanks to Reframe.
This App accidentally got me sober and I couldn't be happier. I just wanted to take a break from alcohol on my "staycation" in August (like I did every year around October) and stumbled upon this App. I made it part of my daily "spa at home" routine. When the week was up I was enjoying the App (it is very easy to use and doesn't require much time) so I stayed with it. After a month I switched from the "sober curious" option to the "sober" path. And I basically never went back. I have found the xtra day in the week, my skin and my bank account love me and this App helped me navigate the entire process. I almost felt cheated that I'd wasted so much time to alcohol...and guess what...the App saw that coming and helped me through that also. Give it a try, you really have nothing to lose and so much to gain.
I've been straggling with alcohol for a couple of years and every time I decide to cut down my alcohol consumption I always end up drinking alcohol again the same way it was or even worse. I don't think I have extreme problems with alcohol, but I'm in the point that it is bothering me not being able to control the amount of alcohol I drink. So, I tried the Reframe app a first time for a month and I was being able to cut back my alcohol consumption. Then I decided to cancel my subscription and I went back to my old self and I started drinking again and this time more often and more quantities. Finally, I put myself the choice of join AA meetings or stay committed to the Reframe app. As you see, I'm writing this long review and telling my story that the app has helped me and has being my Remote AA support system.
I've been using this for a few months and it has really been helpful to me, right now more so than any other program such as AA or celebrate recovery. Not that those are not helpful, and I will probably return to one of them, but recently I have needed to understand more about what underlies my cravings and why I've had such a hard time cutting back on my own. This app has done that for me and much more. The forum is really great, I can be honest and raw and know that I will not be judged and there will be a whole lot of people who identify with me. So it's easy for people to support each other here. I can't recommend it enough. The meetings that are available are also very useful and timely. Daily tasks have been so enlightening, really helping me understand and embrace my journey to change my relationship with alcohol forever.
