What Is Mindful Drinking?
The term “mindful drinking" was coined by Rosamund Dean in her book, Mindful Drinking: How Cutting Down Can Change Your Life. Dean defines mindful drinking as being aware of why, when, and where we decide to drink alcohol. This can mean making a plan for how much you want to drink before a night out. It also means recognizing when you're drinking to avoid unpleasant emotions rather than drinking for enjoyment. The important thing to note is that mindful drinking doesn't have to mean sobriety.
