1. What are the disadvantages of AA?
AA takes a narrow view of recovery, focusing only on the act of drinking. The motivations behind drinking are complex and individual — for the best chance of success, it’s important to take a holistic approach and develop all-around better health.
2. What is the success rate of AA?
This depends on who you ask. Some studies suggest a success rate as low as 5%, but other sources claim a much higher success rate so long as you continue with the program. The definition of “success” is also murky here.
3. Why doesn't AA work for everyone?
Some people don’t click with the program, others find it too harsh. AA also takes a black-or-white approach to sobriety that can discourage many people. With Reframe, you’ll get a judgment-free champion to coach you through every phase of sobriety.
